Research
My research interests include Empirical Software Engineering, Computer Supported Collaborative Work, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Security, Software Documentation, and Social Media.
So far, my work has focused on examining how software developers communicate and collaborate. In this context, I am looking at new software development environments such as IBM’s Jazz. I am studying why and how developers use these tools to support their work. Based on these insights, I hope to formulate hypotheses on how tool and process support can be improved. My research is funded by IBM CAS Ottawa.
Before I returned to Canada in 2007, I worked on the SiDiff project in Germany.
